CMS's Gift to Us: Surveyor Tools

Published by Health Care Association of Michigan

Summary

Continuing with the lessons learned in the first six months of the new survey process, we will connect the process of interviewing and observing directly to the top 10 citations. Learn how the tools result in citations. Use one of the critical element pathways in the Top 10 and discuss the F-tags just one can trigger. Participants will become familiar with the associated F-tags and learn how to use the standards of practice contained in the F-tags to improve care processes.

Learning objectives:

  • Describe how the surveyor’s tools are actually your tools as well to use for quality assurance performance improvement.
  • Explain how the Requirements of Participation provide you with valuable resources to use for updating care processes and to ensure compliance of current standards of practice in skilled nursing/post-acute care settings.
This program is approved for 1 contact hour for licensed nursing home administrators by the Michigan Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Approval Number: 489180066.
