Summary

Historically those with a significant mental illness or developmental delay found themselves living in long term care facilities often without peers or supportive services. The PASRR process is intended to identify significant mental illness or developmental delay for individuals admitted to a skilled nursing facility for longer than a 30 day stay. Individuals who could better be served in a less restrictive environment are identified and either provided with supportive services within the facility or discharged to the community. Learn the ins and outs of PASRR and the facility responsibility when a person admits for care.
