Long-term care facilities, among other healthcare facilities, are increasingly being recognized as sources of patient and staff exposure to legionella through the water distribution system. There are new standards that healthcare organizations must implement to reduce the risk of legionella and make our buildings safe. This session will cover:

  • What is Legionella and how does it cause infection?
  • How legionella is transmitted via water
  • Review of current requirements for a water management program to reduce the risk of Legionella
  • How to make your building Legionella-safe
  • How to document your water management program activities
This webinar is a recording of the live session from the 2019 HCAM/MCAL Maintenance Workshop.
